Im Werk von Willi Bucher ist der durchaus seltene Fall in der Gegenwartskunst zu erleben, dass ein Künstler sowohl Spannendes in der Malerei und Zeichnung geschaffen hat – nicht gegenständlich und gegenständlich – als auch ein bemerkenswertes Oeuvre der Videoinstallationen vorweisen kann. Mit seinen Videoinstallationen blieb Bucher kein Unbekannter, wie diesbezügliche promi- nente Auftritte belegen, von der DiVA Digital Video Art Fair in New York, durch die Alp Galleries präsentiert, über die Stiftung Zollverein Essen bis zur Art Karlsruhe.

The work of Willi Bucher is a rare example of contemporary art, where the artist has both created something exciting in painting and drawing – abstract as well as representational – and produced a remarkable work of video installations. With his video installations, Bucher has not remained unknown, as prominent performances from the DiVA Digital and Video Art Fair in New York, presented by the Alp Galleries, and the Stiftung Zollverein in Essen to the Art Karlsruhe show.
